Fan coil unit (fan coil) is used in air conditioning systems to remove excess heat in rooms for various purposes. A fan coil unit is a unit with a water heat exchanger, a fan, a drain pan and a condensate drainage pipe inside the housing. The air from the room is supplied by a fan to the fan coil heat exchanger in which it is cooled to the required temperature.
When the fan coil unit is operating, condensation forms, which flows into the condensate collection tank or drain pan, and then is discharged into the drain. Fan coil units usually work in a system with a refrigeration machine - chiller, which cools or heats the heating medium and delivers it through a piping system directly to the fan coil units. Fan coil units are one of the most important components when creating an indoor climate system.
